Overview
In EDCM unit applies state of the art mathematical and computational techniques to address research problems from biosciences, toxicology pathology. Our research activities are focus on the monitoring and controlling of diverse range of parasite, viruses, bacteria and other microbes that cause infections disease to people, animals and plants. We use deterministic and biomathematical models including dynamics of these models with analytic and numerical methods, alongside computer simulation to explore how the interactions between multiple drivers of transmission affect the way epidemics develop, and how the management of vectors of parasitic diseases and how they might be monitored and controlled mathematically. Consequently, we believe the monitoring, prevention, management and control of infectious diseases by using computational biology and epidemic modelling is an essential component of health and socio-economic development and stability.
